PARISH OF THE NEW ENGLAND DIOCESE OF THE ORTHODOX CHURCH IN AMERICA
Maxim Galashuk
Maxim Andrey Galashuk, 91, died in Veterans Hospital, Westbrook, CT, on May 4, 1986. He was born on August 15, 1894, in Bazalyia, Ukraine.
He was naturalized on September 8, 1938, in Newport, NH, and remained its resident for many years.
Max was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, Claremont, NH, and regardless of his old age and living alone, he was a sweet and humble person. He enjoyed friendly visits and always had special homemade cookies to offer his guests. The parish kids loved them. By public demand, Max even submitted the recipe for his cookies to the HROC Cook Book.
His burial was in Mountain View Cemetery. Memory eternal, dear friend!

Add 1 tsp salt, 2 c. flour, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp vanilla, and beat them together. Drop a tablespoon of the cookie dough on a baking sheet.
Bake at 400 degrees for about 5-8 minutes. Watch them closely, as they could burn. Good appetite!
